The QRD has become a classic shape in architectural acoustics, from its birth in 1987 it can now be found in churches, schools, theaters and studios all over the world. The Diviewsor is based on the QRD design and is designed to be used where views through the unit are desired. Description
The quadratic residue sound diffuser (QRD) has become a classic shape in architectural acoustics; from its birth in 1987 it can now be found in church, school, theater and studio projects all over the world. The Diviewsor is based on the QRD design and is designed to be used where viewing, day lighting or lighting effects through the unit are desired.
The phase grating surface of the Diviewsor is designed to provide a more uniform sound field through mid and high frequency diffusion while the sturdy acrylic construction of the unit limits the amount of sound energy that is removed by absorption.
The Diviewsor is available in a wide variety of light transmitting material choices, including clear, translucent, tinted and higher opacity acrylic surfaces. It is sized to fit into a standard, reinforced T-Bar grid; more often, it is framed into a wall or ceiling in a fashion similar to mounting a glass panel or window.
