Overview
The Modffractal is part of the evolution in architectural acoustics toward aperiodic sequencing of asymmetrical shapes and provides full spectrum sound diffusion in a single integrated diffusor. To achieve this, the self similarity property of fractals was combined with the uniform scattering property of a phase optimized sound diffuser.
This unique and patented design expands the bandwidth and offers the broadest spectrum of sound diffusion available while also allowing optimized array sequencing for further improved performance.
The Modffractal is a furniture grade, natural wood sound diffuser designed to provide a more uniform sound field through mid and high frequency sound diffusion while limiting the amount of sound absorption.
Sizing
Standard Panel Dimensions (mm): 600x600 and 1200x600
Thickness: 230mm
Description
In an effort to provide the next generation of full spectrum sound diffusion in a single, integrated sound diffusing panel system, the self-similarity property of fractals was combined with the uniform scattering property of the Modffusor (an asymmetric, phase optimized sound diffuser) to produce the Modffractal.
This unique and patented acoustical design offers the broadest spectrum of sound diffusion available and supports the movement in architectural acoustics toward aperiodic array optimization of asymmetric units.
The Modffractal comes in a wide variety of finishes, including wood veneer, laminates, melamine coatings and painted surfaces. It can be mounted on wall or ceiling surfaces by attachment to a provided wooden cleat.
Due to its depth, it is often recessed into a wall or ceiling cavity. The standard unit size also allows for it to lay into a standard, reinforced T-Bar ceiling grid.
